Bachelor of Technology in Polymer Science and Technology

The BTech (Hons) in Polymer Technology and Engineering is a unique programme designed to provide an optimal education and training in the theory and practice of polymer science, technology and engineering. The programme places great emphasis on the applications of science, technology and engineering to produce the next generation of highly skilled graduates who will assume leadership positions in the Chemical Industry, Research, Academia, and in Government.

Polymers are organic macromeloceular materials that include plastics, rubbers, fibres, coatings and adhesives. Polymers are extraordinary materials that pervade our daily lives with a wide range of applications that far exceeds that of any other class of material available to man today. Polymer Science is a multidisciplinary science that deals with chemical synthesis, characterisation, processing and applications of polymers. Polymer Technology is defined as the manufacture, processing, analysis and application of polymers. Polymer Engineering encompasses design, development, analysis, modification, processing and manufacture of polymer materials.
